SHAPE Live | Talk summary

Rosina will be presenting Da Vinci Life-Skill’s proposal of a new model for the future of education, that blends Edtech with in-person community centres. When used ethically and responsibly technology has so much to offer in terms of a more inclusive, personalised and accessible education system. Online assessment means that students can sit their own choice of exams, if and whenever they are ready. This could free up time at school for fun, collaborative, project-based learning. Life-skills such as creative thinking, teamwork and self-management can be assessed in digital portfolios, because they can evidence learning through video, audio, photography, written work, art work, note taking, etc. Schools could become the heart of centres for life-long learning, with co-work spaces, cafes, farmers markets, shops, apprenticeships and beyond, instead of exam factories, and students could be supported to explore their passions and develop their individual talents.
